‘Wild Guide’

September 21, 2013-49

I have spent the weekend pouring over ‘Wild Guide’. It covers Devon and Cornwall indepth but also Dorset and Somerset with special sections on Dartmoor, Exmoor, The Quantocks, The Mendips and more.

The sub title of the book is ‘Hidden Places, Great Adventures and the Good Life’.  There is lots of information about lesser known beaches and wild swimming spots, where to find ancient woodland, campsites and spots to wild camp, quirky places to buy food and natural wonders to see.

It really is very inspiring.  The beautiful photography spilling through the pages is  treat in itself.

I have not yet had the chance to go to any of the places recommended but I have seen several of my favourite spots in the book so I am confident I will not be disappointed.

As we live in and camp all over the South West, I know this book will be well used. I have even found information about spots very local to us that I didn’t know about. In fact I am pretty desperate to get up and go exploring right now.  Damn this weekday life!

I strongly recommend you get yourself a copy of this book if you holiday in the South West or live here and you love searching out the quieter spots.  You will find it hard to put down!
